“High tech” CDA moisture and temp measurement to get dew point
This little guy is a simple, off-the-shelf ambient humidity and temperature sensor. The 3D-printed “case” it fits into features a small baffle to direct airflow toward the sensor, allowing us to measure air temperature and relative humidity. From there, we can easily calculate the dew point of the compressed air using this formula:
Td (°F) = (243.04 × ln(RH/100) + (17.625 × T)) / (17.625 – ln(RH/100))
Where:
- Td (°F) is the dew point temperature in Fahrenheit
- RH is the relative humidity as a percentage
- T is the temperature in Fahrenheit
It’s a cheap and easy way to get a basic estimate of the dew point for the “CDA.”
